NASES provides a full programme of training and professional development opportunities open to student employment practitioners working in HE and FE settings such as career services, students’ unions, placements offices, employability units and schools.

Each delegate will receive a full information pack to support the day's learning.

Essential employment law for student employment

An Introduction to Employment Law to help Job Shops understand the key laws that surround recruitment, the principles of best practice in providing a recruitment service and to understand the importance of best practice issues relating to client and candidate care. There will be a number of directed case studies to give practical examples of the issues that arise in the employment relationship.

This workshop explores what is meant by employability, discusses a variety of employability initiatives offering case studies and guidance on how to develop them and examines what are the main differences between the work you do and that done by volunteering, placements and careers departments
