This project was to host two high profile events to showcase the benefits and explore the implications of employing international students and graduates. The first event was held in Birmingham in March 2010 and a second event March 2011. 

The objectives of the project were to:

• provide 30 - 50 employers per event with an understanding of the new UK points based immigration system with speakers from UUK, FCO and the Home Office; 
• help employers better understand the benefits of recruiting international students and graduates, with speakers highlighting good practice & successful experience; 
• create a networking opportunity for employers, external speakers and HE staff; 
• link with the employer engagement work being undertaken by CIHE;
• contribute to the UK’s attractiveness to international students by helping to provide real graduate level work opportunities for international students on completion of their studies.

Are you ready for the global market? 2 March 2011

This event was aimed at employers who want to access the UK's untapped international graduate population. Presentations from leading immigration lawyers and the UK Border Agency helped explain how to stay on the right side of the ever-changing law.
