Our Vision

By 2015 to be recognised as the leading authority on student employment and through our members increase the number and quality of jobs available to students across the UK.

To make this vision a reality, NASES has the following mission:

Supporting Student Employment Practitioners – keeping members bang up-to-date
Ensuring members have access to relevant, accessible, quality training, support and networking that is integrated, responsive, research informed and of a nationally-excellent standard to improve the delivery of their services to students and employers and their professional development.

Further developing the student employment sector – championing the sector
To support the continued growth and development of the student employment sector

Supporting student workers – being the voice of working students
To establish student employment as a valid source of work experience, assist students to recognise the skills they develop through work experience and to raise the profile of student workers and ensure their employment rights are maintained.

Objectives:

  • protecting employment rights;
  • information and communication;
  • skills development activity;
  • raising the profile.

Facilitate employers in recruiting students – linking employers with job shops
To work with large multi-national employers and SMEs to advertise vacancies to students with the aim to increase the quantity and quality of paid work experience opportunities available to students.

Objectives:

  • increase the quantity and quality of work experience available;
  • facilitate positive PR and press to highlight all forms of student work as valid sources of work experience;
  • promote Corporate Membership to encourage more employers to join NASES;
  • through a variety of campaigns including National Student Employment Week (NSEW), Student Employee of the Year (SEOTY) and More Than Work month, to work with and encourage students and their employers in the development of the student employment sector.

Ensure the Financial Stability of the Association - investing in the future
NASES will ensure it is well governed, well resources to deliver services, meet member needs and achieve its strategic objectives
