Each student category is judged at four levels: Institutional, Regional, National and Overall Student Employee of the Year
The categories remain the same this year. An overall Student Employee of the Year will be selected from among these national category winners.
We also recognise the contribution of good student employers in the National Student Employer of the Year competition.
For more information about eligibility in each category visit the Eligibility and small print page.
Whether you are a SEOTY judge, a job shop running a campaign or a student looking for a nomination you might find it useful to look through this document. It details the criteria we use when deciding who our winners will be.
NASES member universities and colleges around the country will receive anonymised nomination forms representing each student or employer entered into the competition from their institution. Representatives from institutional job shops or careers services will then assemble their team of three judges (these will be picked from a variety of sectors including academics, business representatives, careers specialists representatives from Endsleigh Insurance Ltd. and employers). The judges then compare all entries in a particular category and then decide together which nomination they will submit to regional judging. Institutional winners will receive a certificate and be entered to the next stage of the competition.
The competition is divided into seven regions:
The NASES regional representative from each of these regions will gather together a team of three judges (at this stage we'll be adding some of our SEOTY alumni to our judging panels) and they will again be tasked with selecting the best entry in each category for their region. These nominations will be submitted to the National competition.
The National judging event will be held at the Cheltenham offices of our sponsor Endsleigh Insurance Ltd. The judging team will be made up of senior staff from Endsleigh Insurance Ltd, Experienced job shop staff, SEOTY Alumni, and a NASES head judge. This team will take time to pore over the (still anonymous) nominations received from each region. They then meet to select a single winner in each category. From those winners who will all receive a certificate, trophy, £100 cheque and an invitation to the SEOTY awards celebration in July, an overall winner will be chosen to be our 10th National Student Employee of the Year to join our illustrious list of alumni.
